UNIFORM POLICY

MGM UNIFORM POLICY (REVISED May, 2009)

 

Shirts:  Grade 9- Black oxford and polo/golf style shirt-long or short sleeve. 

Grade 9   Repeating 9th graders are to wear Black

  

Grades 10-12   Solid white button up shirt or polo/golf style shirt-long or short sleeve.  MGM letters on pocket optional: 

Grades 9-12 Shirt must remain tucked in at the waist even when student bends to touch toes: **School issued club, organization, or sport shirts may be worn on days approved by the principal.  Must have sleeves or uniform shirt is to be worn under sleeveless jerseys. ALL STUDENTS MUST WEAR WHITE UNDERSHIRTS   

  

PantsKhaki/tan full length pants-no cargo-carpenter-or gengo-style: must be hemmed, not rolled up, not cut/torn, & not sagging: no hems dragging the ground: no pockets, loops, zippers or drawstrings on the sides or thigh area of pants. NO JEANS.

 

Skort:  (girls only) plaid-Royal Park uniforms #76-length-within 3 inches of the knee.

 

Skirt:  (girls only) khaki/tan- hem must be lower than the knee, splits must not extend above the knee.

 

Belt:  must be worn with belt loops: solid brown or black only

  

Socks:  must be worn at all times: solid white, brown, blue, or black: BLACK leggings or tights ARE ALLOWED.

 

Shoes: solid brown/black shoes ONLYNO sandals or shoes with an open appearance: NO Converse/tennis/athletic-type shoes:  NO house slippers/moccasins, shoes MUST have soles: NO cowboy boots: NO work boots: NO shoes above the ankle bone.

 

Outer Wear:   FULL ZIPPER OR PARTIAL ZIPPERS JACKETS. Jackets must be solid navy blue or black jacket and uniform shirt must be visible: NO trench coats:  NO pullover sweatshirts: NO blue-jean jacket:  NO outerwear tied around the waist:  NO button up, polo or other type shirt will be considered outer wear and therefore may not be worn over uniform shirt.  (Exceptions- school issued jackets only will be allowed)  Must be approved by the Principal.  No jackets or clothes with other school logos.

  

DRESS AND PERSONAL GROOMING POLICY

 

     All students are expected to observe the basic standards of cleanliness, modesty, pride, good judgment, and good grooming.  Clothing should fit and be worn appropriately.  Student dress that is disruptive to the educational program and/or environment is not permitted.

 

Jewelry/other accessories:  Piercing in the ears only:  NO wallet chains: NO spiked collars/wrist bands: NO sweatbands:  NO arm socks.

 

HatsNOT ALLOWED: NO HEAD COVERS (Example: sport/sweat bands, bandannas, wave caps, scarves, etc.) 

  

Book Bags:  must be clear plastic or open mesh

  

ID Badges:  must be worn at all times while on campus, when available

  

Any student out of uniform and unable to get into the proper uniform can not go to class according to board policy.  It is encouraged that the parent be notified and requested to bring what is necessary for him to be in uniform. Repeated violations likely will result in suspension from school.
